Epson’s latest offering for the multi function printer market is the SX100 which they claim is the perfect solution to a every family’s printing and copying needs. If the exterior is anything to go by this is a very nice machine, with its dark gray case and jet black top making it very clean and modem looking. It doesn’t take up too much space of the desk either measuring up at 434 (w) x 327 (d) x 185 mm (h).
The features of the SX100 include printing with a maximum resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi, which is more than enough to print professional looking photographs if required. Its scanning capabilities as also impressive with its built in A4 flat bed scanner capable of a scanning resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi. The SX100 also has a photocopier facility which seams it can be used for copying documents even without being connected to a PC.
Running costs for the SX100 are reasonable, with its four individual ink cartridge system meaning you only have to change the cartridges that are empty. There are two versions of Epson SX100 ink cartridges available – standard capacity and high capacity. The high capacity cartridges (T0711-T0714) are better value for money for most users. Cheaper alteratives to the genuine Epson ink cartridges are available in the form of compatible Epson SX100 ink cartridges which can be more than high the price of the Epson branded ones.
